The snow and the desire to ski are back!

On this occasion, we invite you to learn a little more about this wonderful valley, with the help of our friend Alberto Lacau, who has been president of the Posets-Maladera Natural Park Board, councilor for sports and tourism of the municipality of Benasque, as well as a ski instructor for more than 42 years at the Valle de Benasque Ski School.

Albert, what are the most important aspects for selecting the best destinations to practice winter sports?

I believe that the best destinations for winter sports are those where snow is part of the culture. Due to the environment it belongs to, the Pyrenees in all their splendor offer thousands of places to practice a wide variety of winter sports.

In the Aragonese Pyrenees we have Alpine and Nordic ski resorts, which also offer the option of alternative routes for other sports such as snowshoeing or ski touring, giving athletes a greater variety of options. Although, to really connect with the mountains, there is no better place than the Posets Maladeta Natural Park, where the Cross-Country Tracks of the Plans de l'Hospital are located and you find the 33 Tresmiles, where you can also practice snowshoeing through hidden forests and climb the highest peak with your skis on your feet.

In my opinion, these are sports that require organization, as special equipment is usually required.
